George Town Council to implement ReadyTech preconfigured ERP solution

Melbourne, 20 June 2023 - George Town Council has partnered with ReadyTech to implement its flagship Ready Community ERP solution built for local governments. The preconfigured implementation is aimed at improving customer experience and streamlining operations, and will support the council in achieving its vision to create progressive, prosperous, and proud communities.

Ready Community is a customer-centric solution that enables governments to take a community-first approach to service delivery. It delivers an exceptional user experience, allowing the community to access services and information from any device, at any time, while providing councils with the tools they need to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and drive better outcomes.

Shane Power, General Manager at George Town Council, said, " ReadyTech’s preconfigured best practice implementation approach is ideally suited to accelerate our time to value.

“We aim to create a community that is Proud, Prosperous and Progressive, one that fosters innovation, creativity, and inclusivity. Ready Community will be instrumental in achieving these objectives, enabling us to build a strong connection with our residents and provide the experience they expect."

“Ready Community will allow us to streamline operations, reduce response times, and provide our community with a simple and intuitive way to access services and information. By enhancing our digital capabilities, we will create a more responsive, flexible, and customer-centric organisation," he said

Ready Community will provide George Town Council’s community with 24/7 access to services such as payment processing, customer requests, rates, planning applications, licensing and permitting and other online services.

ReadyTech Chief Executive - Government & Justice, Daniel Wyner, said, “We’re delighted to welcome George Town Council to our growing list of customers in Tasmania, including Glenorchy City Council, City of Hobart and Derwent Valley Council.

“As the only solution on the market built with the customer at the centre, Ready Community is perfectly aligned with George Town’s focus on the customer experience. We look forward to working with them to deliver a superior experience for their community.”

Tasmania is a growth area for the wider ReadyTech group, which is developing a Centre of Excellence from its office in Launceston. The company has invested in developing a local hub of technology capabilities in software engineering, data science, product management and customer support.

The Ready Community solution is powered by Open Office software. Open Office is a wholly owned entity of ReadyTech, and was acquired by the ASX-listed technology company in 2021. Open Office joined other ReadyTech acquisitions Open Windows (which is now Ready Contracts) and IT Vision to form its government segment and deliver the industry’s most comprehensive enterprise SaaS offering for local government.
